Hmm . . . I like it, but at the same time, I find it a bit . . . in your face.

There is some danger of information overload, yeah. I think the admins can control what shows on the front page and what doesn't, though. Probably. I haven't really used IcyPhoenix before this.

The more I use this interface, the more I like it. The info-overload thing will have to be dealt-with, but over all, this is vastly superior to SMF. If anyone's been to the DLP, I'm thinking of instituting a similar "Library" system like they have, where fic recq.s go on one board, and while you can post reviews and rate the threads on the other boards in the library, you can't create threads there, only moderators can move threads with a sufficiently high rating into them.

Re: Sample News Post In Portal
The more I play around with this, the more I'm liking it as well. Icy Phoenix seems uniquely suited to developing a community and not just serve as a forum. The feature set also seem ideal for what Anifics is and aims to be. My only complaint (which isn't actually a complaint, really) is that I don't like the default theme. That should be easy enough to change, though.

I actually really like the theme. It looks really nice to me. I like all this round, shinyness.

To each their own, I guess. The monochromatic paleness makes it look a bit washed out, to me. I think I'd prefer something with a bit more contrast — like one of these themes: You must be registered to view this link, You must be registered to view this link, You must be registered to view this link — but I can work with this current one.

I like #2, and don't mind #s 1 or 3.
I'd like it if this theme were more of a grass green than blue.

Grass green, huh? Hmm... I think Icy Phoenix's You must be registered to view this link should do the trick.

Re: Sample News Post In Portal
Oooh! The new theme is nice and shiny — and much easier on the eyes than the old one, IMHO. I like.
By the way, do you suppose it's time to open this to the general public, or is it to early?

Sol, you might have to reinstall the forum to get rid of the ranks crap.
