I hope the video shops here stock it because that sounds horribly hilarious.  

It is. I got it about fifteen years ago on vhs for about the same price, along with a movie called Ninja Terminator.

What can I say about Ninja Terminator?

... It sucks ass. Not because it's one of those ubiquitous ninja movies that saturated the market. No, despite clearly having a ninja on the cover, there were 0 ninjas in the movie. The entire film consists of some gritty thug fresh out of prison beating up other gritty thugs to avenge his dead girlfriend, with the entire soundtrack consisting of an instrumental version of el Condor Pasa. He kills everyone, and the cops come out of freaking nowhere and carry him off to jail, which is somehow in the same direction he had been fleeing in the first place.

I was going to have a friend watch it, as a (cruel) joke, but someone went and stole it. Which just goes to show you, crime does not pay.

Heh. That sort of reminds me of an incident many, many years ago when our old VHS machine got stolen. See, the tape loading mechanism was broken (and was irreparable) so we took to weighing the tape down with a small wrench for movie nights (and for recording anime ). We kept planning to buy a new VHS player but somehow kept putting it off. Anyway, one day when we were out someone broke into the house and stole the VHS player, it being the only appliance not too heavy to carry off. Luckily, it was only the VHS player that was stolen. The only thing I was mad about was the tape that was still inside which I had used to record anime. I wish I could have seen the thief's face when he realized that there was wrench inside the player, banging into fragile electronic parts as he carried it off.  

I got my issue of 'Sherlock Ninja'.^_^

Sherlock Holmes... ninja style.. yeah!

Also got my Gold Digger TPB 1-8 too now, oh yeah.^_^

Got myself a brand-spanking new Gateway Notebook PC. Nicely slender, runs awesome. Gonna do the lion's share of my software development on it. Just gotta delete all the commercial crapware that comes with it.

On the flip side, I tried to access this account with my new laptop, and wouldn't you know, but my PW wasn't what I thought it was, nor was it the other most likely candidates, so the session was locked until I could input the visual key... long story short, that captcha is a filthy, lying whore.

About three years ago I found ants had made a nest in my Xbox. I doused the thing in Raid and sealed it in a plastic bag. Earlier today, I pulled the thing out and tried it to see if it would blow up and take me with it. To my surprise, the damn thing still works.

Still covered in dead ants, tho.

Congrats, try not eating bread with jam over your console this time though  

Ahhh...  a couple things

1. Have off from work today (something very good considering when I left yesterday my immediate boss was so pissed he was yelling into the phone at the person on the other side telling the other person off, thankfully not that mad at me, as I had nothing to do with it, but I've no desire to be around him today).

2. Temperature today is supposed to be much lower for my area than it has beent he last week, and thunderstorms predicted.  Normally I like hotter weather, but 95+ heat and high humidity makes it a bit much even for me, and most others like spreading their misery.

3. Went to the doctor today, except my weight, which he wants to have me loose more of, I'm in good enough health and he was pleased enough with my last test results he said not to bother him for 6 months.  I was in and out in some 15 minutes, about the fastest I've ever had a doctors appt. go.

4. been working my but off attempting to clear the weekend and catch up with all my errands.  I think I managed to clear the board.

I now have the next 2 1/2 days completely free, so I'm hoping to finally be able to finish the back half of Nanoha StrikerS.  I've said that before, a couple times before in fact, and every time something has occured in RL to cause me to stop and do something else.  Hopefully nothing will this time.

Heh...


This coming Thursday, we are getting a new driveway put in.  Yea!!!

This is relevant because today, I was going to do some prepatory yardwork.  Mainly trimming back some bushes and clearing out some weeds and doing edging work along the sides of the driveway area.

I checked the weather report for my area a short while ago...  at 6pm, 10% chance of rain, 7pm 30%, and 8pm 40%.

So... figured I'd grab a bit to eat, then a few minutes of relaxing (well, as much as possible in 90F degree heat) before getting to it.

The problem, at 5:30 I started hearing thunder, and now at 6pm...  it is raining cats and dogs...


As usual...  weather reports are worthless in Ohio.

Took a  half day off...

Even better, I left with every scrap of work in my equivelent to a in bin complete

Even better, while a day late due to weather and timing, my driveway has been completely redone...  they did a great job, looks 1000% better.  Only took them some 6 hours start to finish.

I do have some mud marks from water and dirt in the garage from the steamroller I have to clean up, I'll use the hose tomorrow to wash it out.   Likewise, I'll probably have to resweep the bottom of the driveway.  Both I consider minor items.


Have to stay off it with the cars until monday morning, but been able to walk on it fine for last few hours.

Don't know if this really fits the concept of Appreciation or not, but here goes.


Back in the early 90's, I was job hunting, once I finally got a job, I discovered the tendancy for the companies to hold onto resumes far longer than was considered official by the industry.   The record from that batch was a job offer from them having recieved my resume 6 years prior and just looking at it and getting back to me, so they got it around 1992, and got back to me around 1998.  Had a good laugh on that one at the time.

Now...  I also was agressively job hunting back in 2008 and into early 2009, finally finding work in May 2009.  At that point, I deleted, disabled, or minimized all my on-line profiles (a couple sites do not have the ability to let you delete them).   And let them go inactive.

Today, 15 months later, a guy actually was trying to get ahold of me bad enough he started attempting contacting people that *might* be able to forward his email to me.


Boy...  while I can appreciate the enthusiasm...  where was he 15+ months ago.
