Ranma stared at the mountain in front of him, wondering if this was something that he could really do. He thought it would be within his powers. But there was only one way to find out. Ranma closed his eyes and concentrated. With a flash his battle aura erupted in a blue whirl around him. It continued to rise and rise, building until the ground he was standing on cracked under the pressure.
Reaching the point when he couldn't hold the power in any more, Ranma released it around him, constricting it so he could still harness the energy, but not holding it in his body, holding it shimmering in the air around him. It continued to increase as a crater formed at his feet, his ki solidifying around him. With a yell of suppressed violence his power once again increased by several times, though this was accompinied by a shift in his form. Muslces bulged noticbly, increasing his strengh and speed greatly, allowing him the kind of moves that he had never dreamed of possible just a few years ago. Back when he had been a teenager and Cologne seemed to be the end all of power and skill.
He had since learned that things had changed greatly from the time when she had been the master. The fighting style seemed to be changing over to one of almost pure power and speed, rather than cunning. The Splitting Cat Hairs technique was a perfect example of this. Such a technique could be beaten by simply increasing ones aura enough to throw off the illusions, or, if one was strong enough, the person throwing it also. Like Ranma was currently doing. Of course, if one combined the attacks, things got really intersting. Then those same clones wouldn't just circle around, but would act and fight on their own. Well, as good as Ranma could direct them anyway.
"Ka me..." Ranma started the attack that had gotten him his revenge, his eyes focusing on the small mountain in front of him. His hands were cupped at his waist, a bright glow forming between his palms as his power skyrocketed.
"Ha me..." The glow intensified, becoming a basketball sized globe of pulshing energy. Ranma's stance changed slightly, bracing himself for the kickback from such a strong attack. Hoping the ground wouldn't crumble benieth his feet. Hoping he wasn't trying the impossible. He would know in a moment, along with several other people, both good and bad.
Goku's eyes snapped open, his head swiveling around to look in the direction of the incredible power that he had felt. He smiled. He would have to go see who that was, it felt like it would be a good fight. His stomach suddenly rumbled and he rubbed it, thinking he would go after the strong ki signature after he had a light snack. Chichi brought out several plates stacked high with food, which were quickly devoured. Goku couldn't wait.
Vegita's head snapped around, glaring in the direction of a new, and strong, energy. He had no idea who the person might be, but he could tell he would give him a run for his money. His eyes narrowed as he thought about how this power could have come about without him sensing it before now. It was far too strong for any of them to now have noticed it before hand. Unless he had just learned how to harness it. But that couldn't be right, it felt strong, solid, well focused. This couldn't be the first time that this power had been accesses. But he knew it hadn't ever been around before then. Something strange was going on, and Vegita needed to know what it was. He left his gravity chamber, heading out into the sky, hoping that he would get there before the power ended whatever attack it was doing. A small smile played across his lips, something that only Bulma had ever seen before. This could be very interesting, Vegita couldn't wait.
Master Roshi looked up sharply, his brow furrowing as he tried to discern who that power could be. Not being able to identify it caused him great worry. There shouldn't have been anyone that powerful that he didn't know. He rubbed his chin as he "hmmed," going for the wise master look, spoiled when a comercial for Wonder Bra's showed up on the TV. Roshi suddenly realized he was slobbering all over his TV when the comercial finally ended, and he quickly stood back up, trying to get his dignity back. Everybody else in the house just looked at him and frowned. He chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head. Some things just never changed.
"HAAAA!!!!" Ranma screamed. With that shout the special attack was completed, the huge ball of life force Ranma had gathered between his hands shooting forth to impact witht the mountain and, in a huge explosion that Ranma was sure was going to attract the attention of every news agency in the world, obliterated the mountain. Ranma stared at the new crater he had made, his hands still smoking slightly from all the energy that they had just contained. He breathed evenly, surprising himself with how much energy he still had left over. With a long sigh he raised himself into the air and headed out of the area quickly. He really didn't want to see what kind of reaction something like that might get him.
Ranma lowered himself down to where his camp was, the tent he had been using for a while now starting to show the signs of its age. He was just glad to have something over his head, instead of sleeping in the open all the time. He would crawl out of his tent if he wanted to see the stars, his only companions for the longest time, but it was nice not having to be in the rain and bugs all the time.
He looked across to where the mountain range stood, one of the peaks conspicuously missing.
