Legionnaires

Part 1

            Well here she was. After lying her head off on the paper work, meracilessly passing the physical, and having gotten so many shots that she was now pretty sure she was immune to all diseases known to man. Now she was ready. Yes, ready to start what could be the worst mistake of her life. But there was no turning back now. *No, I’ll show em, I’ll show em all!*  Of course maybe the French Foreign Legion wasn’t the best place to prove herself, but Usagi was here now.

            Walking up to her bunk bed, Usagi noticed that her bunkmate, whoever she was, wasn’t there yet. Looking around the open bay barracks, she noticed a girl unpacking her stuff at the bed next to hers. The girl was tall and very well formed. Her long red hair was held in a ponytail. Usagi was somewhat jealous of the girl’s much more shapely body. The girl then noticed her.

            “Hi, I’m Mai.”

            “Umm hi, I’m Usagi.”

            Mai looked Usagi up and down, almost as if sizing her up. “So why did you join?”

            “Ah it might sound stupid, but I had a falling out with my friends, particularly my boyfriend. They all dumped me. Then on top of all that, my parents and me got into a fight and they disowned me. Both him and my parents would go on about how immature I was, so this is my way of proving them all wrong. I know it sounds real stupid, joining the French army because you have trouble with your family and love life.”

            “I wouldn’t be too sure about that.” Usagi blinked at Mai. “I joined because of I have this boyfriend. Or at least I think he’s my boyfriend. I had needs, but he just seemed to ignore them. I was beginning to wonder if he loved his martial arts more than he loved me, so I decided that maybe some time away from him would be good for me.”

            “Oh.” Mai and Usagi then notice two more girls setting up across at the bunk across from Mai’s. One was a dark skinned girl with black shoulder length hair. The other girl had blond hair, also shoulder length, and looked to be about twelve!

            “Hello. I’m Usagi, who are you?” Both the girls looked at Usagi for a moment.

            “You don’t look old enough to be here.” Said the blond. Usagi glared at her.

            “Look who’s talking spore!”

            “What did you call me!” Suddenly the dark skinned girl stepped up.

            “Hi I’m Rally. I’m real good with firearms. My friend over there is May. Just call her Minni May.”

            “I specialize in explosives and sex!”

            Mai rolled her eyes. “Oh please.”

            May narrowed her eyes. “Want to try me?”

            Mai blinked. What was she talking about? Did this little girl want a fight? “W-What are talking about?”

            “I’m talking about sex. I can do it with a girl. I’m guaranteed to make you scream!” May said with a smirk. The other girls just looked at her for a while with little pinpoint eyes. Then Rally spoke.

            “Ah May, you haven’t been hanging around me all this time to get me in the sack have you?”

            “No! Just for the record, I do prefer men. That doesn’t mean I haven’t serviced a woman every now and then. Even enjoyed it.”

            “Umm right.” Said Usagi. “So why did you join?”

            “Well we…” said Rally both glad and nervous about the change of subject. “We sort of got in trouble with the wrong people back home. So we came here until things cooled off.”

            “Ahh.” It was then two more girls walked up and started setting up there beds. Both had short black hair that made them look rather boyish. Both were in deep conversation, and Usagi figured that they knew each other. As the two girls talked the others walked up to them.

            “Hello, I’m Usagi. This is Mai, Rally and May.”

            Both girls stopped talking and turned to her. “Oh hi, I’m Sammy and this is Ryuunosuke.”

            “So you two know each other?” asked Usagi.

            “Oh no, we just meet today.”

            “I’m Sorry, just the way you two were talking I figured…”

            “That’s OK, it’s just that we found out we have so much in common.”

            “So why did you join?” asked Mai.

            “Would you believe we join the legion to be more feminine?” answered Ryuunosuke.

            “Wha!” answer the group as a whole.

            “It’s like this: Our fathers both didn’t want a daughter so they insisted that we act like a boy. You see our family thinks that us joining the legion is real manly.”

            “And since we’re hundreds of miles from home we can act as girly as we want without our families knowing about it.” Finished Sammy.

            Usagi nodded understanding. She then felt Mai poke her side. Turning around Usagi noticed that her bunkmate had arrived.  The girl had red hear, done in a pigtail. She was slightly smaller than her, but was very well built much to Usagi’ dismay. Between Mai, Rally, and now this new girl she was beginning to develop an inferiority complex. Taking a deep breath, Usagi waked up to the girl.

            “Hello, I’m Usagi. Looks like we’ll be sharing the same bunk bed.” Like Mai, the girl turned and looked Usagi up and down.

            “Ranko Foret.” Said the girl as she turned back to making her bed. The answer was short and to the point. Usagi just watched her for a moment. Ranko sure didn’t seem very friendly.

            “So, want to tell me why you joined?” Usagi took several steps back as Ranko stopped and glared at her.

            “No.”
