Well, it's been quite a while since I finished a chapter but I finally got chapter 5 done. It's shorter then the other chapters, but I decided to stop here and use all/or most of chapter 6 for the double date instead of making this an extra long chapter. Also I have... Kind of have a web page up. It's a mess right now BUT I'm working on it and you can read the previous chapters of Ranma and Nabiki 1/2 there. Unfortunately at this time that's all you can read. All the other links don't yet work. The address is http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Pressbox/6659/RanmaSolo/Main.html. Anyway, on to chapter 5. Any and all C&C or feedback is appreciated. From good work to you suck and everything in between. Disclaimer - I do not own any of these wonderful characters no matter how much I wish I did. ^_^ I mean no harm in using them. *So, Nabiki still has Ranma under her control. Damn... I'm going to have to rethink my plans now.* The young man with long blonde hair pulled tightly into a ponytail clutched at his chest and winced lightly with each step he gingerly took. A long handle of hard steel rose from his back and over his shoulder. The handle ended in a large mostly square shaped piece of steel with a razor sharp edge on each side that glinted in the strong afternoon sunlight. He walked along a dark alley pathway so as not to draw attention to himself, a long series of three gashes in one's chest tends to do that when is sight of the public. He'd had much worse before in his lifetime and probably would again, but it was rather unsightly and the last thing he needed were people watching him. Slumping against the near by wall to rest for a moment the man armed with the baker's peel noticed he was at his destination, a medium but modest sized restaurant building with an apartment upstairs. Glad to be home he crouched down and jumped up into the open window. Quickly undressing he went into the bathroom and started the shower. Nabiki and Ranma 1/2 Part 5 By: Mike Malaspina "All right Akane, good. Now faster!" encouraged Ranma. Akane nodded once and went on the attack again. However, unlike when she started she was now about ready to collapse. Ranma noticed and stopped. Just as Akane used as much strength as she could muster for one final attack. A front kick that connected squarely with Ranma's chin and sent him flying across the room and into the wall. The wall cracked and were it not specially reinforced it would have given way, but Soun had decided to have the dojo modified a months after he started training Akane. Akane gasped and rushed to Ranma's side. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay!?" she screamed. "Ranma, speak to me!?" "You get the number of that...," Ranma paused to shake his head, "truck?" Akane wasn't sure whether to be insulted or not so just let it slide. "Ranma, why didn't you block that better? In fact, why didn't you just dodge?" "Well, cause I was about to say we were gonna stop for the day before you put your foot in my mouth. Now, however, I have another idea," Ranma smiled as Akane began to look nervous. -------------------- As Ranma entered the kitchen he noticed Genma, in human form, peeking into the fridge. "Don't think dinner was enough, eh, Pops?" Startled, Genma's head flew up and banged against the top of the refrigerator before he pulled it out. "What's the big idea sneaking up on me like that, boy?" asked Genma a hand rubbing the sore spot. "Hey, it's not _my_ fault you have the reflexes to match that fat panda body of yours." "Ranma! Show some respect! I'm your father! I taught you everything you know!" "No you didn't, old man! You know Elder Cologne taught me more then you ever did." "Oh really now? She did, did she? I doubt it very much that the old ghoul taught you more in ONE year then I did in ten." "You wanna bet?" "Yes, I do in fact." Ranma smiled, *This should be interesting.* "What do you want to bet?" he asked his father. "How about this. If I win you have to teach me the Chestnut Fist...," started Genma before Ranma interrupted. "What do you have that means enough to me for me to put up the Chestnut Fist?" "I was getting to that, m'boy," said Genma. "Then get to it!" said Ranma impatiently. "Yeesh, calm down. If I win you teach me the Chestnut Fist and if you win I won't tell your mother about your curse." Ranma blanched and looked around nervously. "You wouldn't!" "I would!" "Fine... What'a we have to do to win?" "The person to win will be the person to not eat anything for the longest." Ranma burst out laughing, "Okay! Man... You're getting senile in old age, Pops! You seriously think you can out last me in a not eating contest?" Genma smirked confidently. "Ranma, you don't know what you've gotten yourself into." "Ah, shove it old man." -------------------- Meanwhile in the dojo Akane wondered how Ranma had learned a pressure point that was making her do this speed enhancing exercise over and over. She wouldn't have minded, but one, she was so tired she felt like she was going to drop dead at any second and two, she had no idea how playing patty cake was going to make her faster. -------------------- "Ranma, I'm gonna grab a snack before bed. Want anything?" asked Nabiki. "No thanks." "Huh?" replied Nabiki dumbly. Ranma looked up from his school work, "What?" "Uh... No....thing," Nabiki cleared her throat. "Nothing." Ranma shrugged his shoulder and went back to work on his English assignment. *Stupid foreign languages...* Nabiki blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes. She squinted while looking at Ranma trying to see some sign of something wrong, but he looked like he always did. Really, really cute and a little slow. That last part was usually most noticeable when he was doing homework like he was at this time. Nabiki thought it made him cuter. especially since she knew he wasn't slow at all. Pondering for a moment she ran over the last minute in her head, *Asked him if he wanted a snack, he said no...* She shook her head, *There is something wrong here.* Nabiki pinched herself, *Hmm, that's not it.* "Ranma?" Ranma paused then looked up, "Yes?" "What's wrong!?" Nabiki practically screamed. "What? What do you mean? Nothing's wrong." "Yes, there is! Why did you turn down a snack?" Comprehension dawned on Ranma and he laughed, "Oh! That... Me an' Pops got a bet going. Whoever lasts the longest without eating wins." Nabiki frowned, "What exactly did you bet on?" Ranma didn't notice Nabiki's expression, "If I lose I gotta teach Pops the Amaguriken... And if I win he won't tell Mother about my little curse." Nabiki's frown became a full-blown scowl, "That sneaky basterd... Ranma, problem." Ranma looked up, at hearing the tone of her voice, curiously, "What?" "One, Cologne said under no circumstances are we to teach him any Amazon techniques. And two, we've got that double date with Kuno and Akane tomorrow." "We do? Aw, crap! We do! I forgot all about that! Can't we postpone it or somethin'?" "Well, sure but Kuno is kinda of strange about formality so I don't think I can just say, 'Sorry, we're going to have to postpone because my husband is having some silly contest with his father and can't eat until it's over.'" Ranma was almost offended but did realize that the bet was kinda silly. He frowned as he sat in thought, "Hey, why not keep the date and we can just say my throat is sore and I can only have liquids?" Nabiki smiled as Ranma proved just how slow he was, "That's brilliant Ranma! Simple and there's no way it could be refuted." Ranma too smiled, only his was more of a smug smile then one of simple satisfaction, "I know." -------------------- Genma looked at the clock. *Good, four A.M. I'm sure the boys asleep by now.* Genma chuckled at the genius of his plan, as he went over it again in his mind's eye. Genma pictured a chibi-Panda looking on a sleeping chibi-Ranma and chibi-Nabiki. The chibi-Panda then snuck out of the house stealthily, unheard and unseen by all. Next, he pictured the chibi-Panda stuffing down as many okonomiyakis as he could eat at the brand new, all night okonomiyaki restaurant. "Hehehe," Genma giggled to himself when suddenly the lights in the dojo came on. Let me now mention that the chibi-Panda in Genma's visions was wearing an all black ninja outfit, much like the one he was wearing now, and snuck out of the house through the dojo so if anyone caught him he could just claim a late night, early morning practice session. Akane knew nothing of these plans and in her sleep and energy deprived thought process thought Genma to be an intruder. Too tired to do anything else she pulled a mallet out of thin air that was as large or larger then Genma's panda form. And dropped it right on top of his head. She muttered something about perverts and stupid senseis before she started again for her bed and some much deserved sleep. ************************************************* * "We're going Vampire hunting with a .9 * * millimeter.
