Title: Wake Me Up
Chapter Two: Say Goodbye -once,twice,three times- PT2
Synopsis: SerenaXDarien fic. All their lives they've teased each other, but deep down inside they had an attraction toward one another. They came close to acting upon their feelings, but then Darien suddenly goes to America, because of his dying Aunt. Saying goodbye was awkward, and depressing. Serena waits for his return to make her move, then 3 years later he comes back. Will things still be the same?

Darien - 16 years of age
Serena and the gang - 14 years of age
Author's Notes: Yes. I know I've just finished one chapter, well now I'm on the next one pretty fast. Why? Because I'm bored. So yeh. I figured might as well keep writing.

"Yoo hooo?" Rei said while waving her hand in front of Serena's face.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry. So what now? “Serena said.
"Hey Lita, what is this?” Mina asked while pulling a sheet away from Lita's binder.
"None of your business! I mean...it's nothing" Lita answered suspiciously. Then she tried to grab back the sheet of paper, but Mina would not let go.
"Lita, why would you are you carrying an application for a school in Korea?" Mina questioned.
Lita ripped the piece of sheet and ran out the door. The others then followed.
"LITA?!" Serena yells.
Lita then turns around.
"Look, this is Amy's time to say goodbye, so leave it!" Lita screamed.
"What is that suppose to mean?" Reai asked.
"Fine, well I wasn't going to tell you guys, until after Amy left. But I guess you guys do deserve to know" Lita said.
"I-I'm..moving to Korea. My mom was offered a great job there, and we are leaving in 2 weeks." Lita explained.
The three girls were stunned. First it was Amy, then now Lita. Their friendship was going to vanish.
"Oh..Lita. Nooo..." Mina whined.
It was only the first year of high school, and now Serena felt like she was being abandoned. Amy was the knowledge of the group, and Lita was in a way the protector. All of the bull shit they dealt with since Junior High, Lita was always the one who defend people. She was also the one who knew how to stand her ground.
Serena then ran off. She didn't want this to be true. So she began to walk around the city. The other tried to call out to her, but then eventually lost her.
-BOOM-
"Oh, it's you" Darien was shocked. It was 10:00 at night. The city was a dangerous place to be
late at night. All sorts of criminals come out after 9:30.
"Yeah, sorry for bumping into you." Serena apologized then walked off looking sad.
"Serena, you shouldn't be out here alone. There are maniacs around here" Darien advised.
"Like you care whether I get killed or raped" Serena implied.
Actually truth was Darien would kill anyone who ever touched Serena.
"Hey don't say that, let me walk you home" Darien offered.
"Wh-a-at?!. Yeah... I guess so. Wait..actually...no thanks." Serena said.
"Well. I really don't care whether you say yes or no. Because I'm walking you home no matter what." Darien said firmly.
Serena couldn't believe how nice and protective Darien was of her.
"No, the reason is. I'm going to the park just to clear my mind." Serena told Darien.
"Well. I'll accompany you." Darien said.
"Oh, alright then" Serena couldn't believe she was actually going to have some alone time with him.
Serena and Darien then started to walk.
"So what's wrong?" Darien questioned.
"What do you mean?" Serena was confused.
"I could just tell that you are worried about something." Darien implied.
"Oh..Well see my friend Amy is transferring to another school, and I have a feeling she won't have anytime for me anymore. And then..my other friend Lita, she is moving to Korea. I ran away as soon as I found out." Serena explained. She was so confused by her actions. Why was she opening up to Darien.
"I understand what you are going through. I know you feel abandoned and lonely. I felt the same way too when I was just a kid...But hey meatball head! You will always have me. *laughs* You are never going to get rid of me!" Darien teased.
Serena was amazed at how understanding he was.
"You promise?" Serena questioned.
"Promise what?" Darien was puzzled.
"That you will never leave me?" Serena was shocked at what she was saying. She was feeling really vulnerable.
'What?! Why in the world did Serena ask me that? I thought she hated me?!' Darien said in his head.
"Yes.." Darien answered.
Then they embraced.
Serena's POV
( What is happening?! Why did he open his arms, and why did I open my arms?! Does he like me?..No shut up Serena! He can never like me. He probably just feels bad about calling me ugly, fat and stupid. Well..this feels so nice. His cologne..I wonder what it is. His chest is so warm. )
Darien's POV
( About time I hugged her. Oh Serena I wish I could tell you how I feel right now. But I can't it's too sudden. But I promise one day I will tell you how I feel about you. I hope you feel the same way. This hug...it's probably only happening because she is vulnerable. )
After a while, they let go.
"Oh. I better go. It's already 10:30. My mom is going to kill me!" Serena yelled.
"Don't worry. Just blame it on me. Say I held you up at the arcade. Alright?" Darien offered to take the blame.
"It's alright. That's sweet of you. But I can take care of myself." Serena said then walked off.
"Hey, you know my offer still stand. I'm going to walk you home no matter what." Darien told Serena.
Serena just smiled and they walked off together.
At Serena's front door
"Here we are, Darien can I ask you a question?" Serena began to say.
"Yeah, anything meatball head!" Darien replied.
"What do you look for in a girl?" Serena asked.
Darien was shocked at what she was asking.
"I can't answer that..."Darien replied.
"Oh I see..I'm sorry for asking. You don't even know me that well, so why would you tell me, right?" Serena was distressed that she just made a fool out of herself.
"No it's not that, it's because I already got a girl. So I'm not looking. But you know what? I love my girl. She is so sweet, beautiful, and fun. I especially love her meatball head!" Darien answered then walked off.
Serena turned red, and collapsed.
Serena's POV
( Oh my gosh!! He was talking about me! He likes me...he really likes me... )
Serena then opened the door, and then skipped around the house happily.
"SERENA TSUKINO! What the hell do you think you are doing?! It's almost 11:00. I was worried sick! Get to your room and I'll deal with you later!" Her mom shouted.
"Mom..I'm sor- "Serena was cut off.
"I SAID GET!" her mom screamed so loud that she practically woke the whole neighborhood up.
Even though she was in trouble, all Serena could feel was butterflies in her stomach. The man she has always had a crush on her loved her back. She was the happiest girl in the world. She jumped in her bed and then looked up at the stars. She told herself that she would tell Darien about her feelings toward him too tomorrow.
The Next Day
Serena got up and got dressed up to school. She walked to Amy's house, and rang the doorbell. No one answered. So she rang it again, then Amy's mom opened the door.
"Oh Serena, Amy left 20 minutes ago" Amy's mom said.
"She left without me? But why? Did I do something wrong to make her upset?" Serena asked.
"Serena..why would she wait for you? She doesn't go to St. Mark's anymore" Amy's mom replied.
Serena was stunned.
"But she just got accepted yesterday..." Serena told her mom.
"Yes, I know. Yesterday she informed St. Mark's that se was no longer attending there, and she packed up her school stuff too" Her mom informed her.
"Oh..I see" Serena was confused.
Serena then left. She called the others and told them what happened. No one was expecting that she would just leave like that.
-BOOM-
"Darien..hi" Serena said nervously.
"Yeah..hey" Darien replied.
"About last night…" They bought said at the same time.

Author's Notes: Yes I know it's focusing a lot on Amy, and Serena's friend. But I promise you this is a fic about Darien and Serena so please just keep reading. I'm going to try to end it with Amy and Lita soon enough, and trust me it will only be about Serena and Darien. I have my reasons for cutting out Amy and Lita. JUST STAY TUNED!
