Nikholas "goo" F. Toledo presents Darkness... Silence... From afar, a pair of cold red eyes try to pierce the veil of darkness surrounding it, while trying to break the sound of silence by a frightening wail. It has been wandering this vast wasteland trying to find anything to satisfy its cravings for fear, for destruction. Somewhere... A young man is sleeping under the shade of an old oak tree, not knowing where he is, where should he go and what is going to happen next. Neither minding nor knowing the existence of the darkness engulfing it, the shade kept on moving, moving on a straight line waiting for its destiny. After what would seem to be miles to ordinary people the shade encountered a small castle atop a small hill. The castle was surrounded by three walls. The castle would have been completely engulfed in darkness if not for a faint light emanating from the tallest tower in the castle. The light shone on the shade, an outline began to form around its red eyes. Its form was grotesque, it looked like torn pieces of black cloth sewn together and given eyes. It appeared ho have no appendages and no mouth, no nose only eyes. "This castle shall fall" thought the shade. Strong winds came from all directions as the shades outer persona began to morph. From where there was only cloth flowing against the fury of the winds came out two armored legs and two armored arms holding a battle axe. Cloth became metal. On the place where a piece of cloth with eyes once stood now there is a huge armored knight poised and ready to destroy. A dark figure watches intently as a pigtailed boy is sparring with a short-haired girl. The boy deftly evaded every blow the girl does infuriating the girl. Anybody would have laughed at the two. The figure kept on watching. The shade swung its mighty axe in a huge arc. Hitting the outermost wall with all its might, the wall began to crack. As the boy gently sidestepped to avoid another barrage of fists and feet, the dark figure let out a bloodcurdling cry and charged at the boy. Startled the boy let out a shout of pain as the figures foot connected with his face. The girl froze in shock. The shade swung again and this time the outermost wall gave in. One down, two to go. As the boy tried to regain his composure, the figure continued its assault. The second wall was thicker. The shade thought for a while. "My axe cannot do it alone". The shade deftly raised both its armored hands and began to murmur something unheard by mortal ears. The darkness began to intensify. Lightning began to form. Bolt after bolt the wall was hit hard. Its trying its best to defend the castle. The boy tried to reason out with his attacker, it was difficult when your trying to talk while evading a foot or a hand that was getting to close for comfort. the figure continued its attack as if he cannot hear anything the boys says. There was only one thing on its mind. Total annihilation of its target. The second wall began to crumble under the combined efforts of the shades axe and the barrage of lightning bolts. The figures eyes began to glow a frightening red. The boy kept on blocking and reasoned out to no avail. As time passes more shots pass through his defenses. Each shot he takes clouds his mind. He did not want to reason out anymore. Another bolt and another slash obliterates the wall. "two down one to go". The boys anger was too much to contain. He gently sidestepped and delivered a flurry of blows. The figure just continued its attack. The third wall was as thick as the second one. "No problem" thought the shade. he set forth bolts of lightning. They all dissipated a few inches from the wall. The girl just stood there thinking of what to do while the two combatants continued to trade blows. The shade continued to probe the third wall trying to find a weakness, to no avail. The boy, enraged by the sheer persuasiveness of his attacker increased his aggressiveness. The dark figure was taken aback by the fast retaliation of the boy. Each time he was hit his want for destruction seems to grow. To the shades amazement, the wall began to weaken. So, he set forth to attack the wall. The combatants traded blows, neither one gaining the advantage. neither one giving ground to the other. The barrier kept on weakening. As if going to make their final blows, both combatants jumped diametrically opposing each other. The boy kept on calling the figure names. The figure just stood still. The wall became dust. Both combatants then ran towards each other, each one intending to finish the other one off. Their minds were filled with rage. When the combatants were about a few inches from each other. The girl regained her composure and shouted "STOP!". The shade laughed as it saw the wall crumble. It then held its axe up high to finally finish off the castle when an intense light hit him. The light came from the middle tower, compared to a few minutes ago it was shining a million times brighter. The shade was taken aback by the warmth of the light, it did not know what to do. For the first time in its existence it felt fear. It tried to move what appeared to be its legs, to no avail. It felt a weird sensation. It felt parts to itself melting away . It tried to fight, to no avail. From where once a huge armored being stood now only a gray mist was present, slowly drifting away from the castle even though no wind was present. The walls began to reform, knowing that there will be other beings out there. Silence... NOTES: Well, most of you must have either skipped most of the story and will probably read only this part or thrashed this fic. I don't blame you. I was working on the theory that there exists another realm that represents our psyche. Our minds are fortresses whose strength and condition depends upon the strength of our wills.
