Our Nation is in Crisis
We have strayed too far from the ideals and concepts that birthed this great nation. Our America, founded upon the blood and tears of our forefathers and the brethren who paid dearly for our union during the Civil War have seemingly died for nought.
The Republicans would have you believe that their vision is the correct path to choose for our future. Their insight and strong leadership will lead us to "The Promised Land". Maybe that's true. However, they would have you believe that they and their longest lived opponents are the only options.
The Democrats would have you believe that the power of the people has been diminished, that the government in Republican hands is heading towards a dangerous end, that our very way of life might be endangered. They, like their adversaries, would have you believe they are the only two choices. Perhaps they are.
But we, the people, have a responsibility to our government. In a democracy, we hold sway over the outcome of elections and how our government, itself, may change. We have a responsibility to be informed.
But who can inform you? Both the most powerful political parties in our country inundate you with information and allegations in an attempt to dissuade you from considering other options. If they lie well enough, you'll believe them. If they make it entertaining enough, you will listen. After all, a great fight is all that is needed to distract the American people from what else might be going on, if there is fire and passionate rhetoric, then what else do you need? Don't change the channel, we'll be right back with THE TRUTH.
Surely the NEWS will tell us what we need to know. Surely the RADIO will be honest with us. I have my own doubts.
This page, humble as it may be, is my effort to try and shed some light on this world of ours. To help people see past their differences, to see past party lines in order to TRULY make an informed decision. Whether it is an election year or not, you should have someplace to go to find information on the person you may owe your allegiance to.
Though, truly, you should owe your allegiance only to yourself and the pursuit of wisdom.
So I welcome you here to this mission, may you take from here what you will, and may it in some small way open your eyes.
