For all the violence, angst, resentments, and near tragedy in "Urusei Yatsura the Senior Year", it could have all been a lot worse.
For, you see, at least in that storyline Ataru and Lum were destined to be with each other at the end of their trials (as for the rest of Tomobiki...well...the heck with them, right?). But with if they weren't?
Thus is the premise of Fred's newest series, Lonely Souls. Folks, this storyline is dark! Major characters from UY are killed right from the start, starting with Lum herself(!). There's a mad act of terror involved too, and, right after the horrors of September 11th, it seems this story couldn't have come at a more appropriate moment.
The Nerima Wrecking crew are rocked as well by events of this story, as Ataru and his sister Negako arrive to stay in that town. What will their presence bode for the people there...and for those Ataru turned his back on in Tomobiki?
Oh, did we mention that the characters from "Sister Princess" are involved in this mess, too. Guess which angst and vengence filled character they're related to...
You guessed it...
One thing for sure...nothing will ever be the same.
